QCOSTARICA — Yum Brands, the parent company of fast-food chains such as Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, announced that it will begin working with technology giant Nvidia to take orders using artificial intelligence (AI).
The collaboration with Nvidia, according to Yum Brands, will also allow them to evaluate the performance of each of their franchises, with a presence on five continents.
This partnership is Nvidia’s first with a restaurant company and is expected to be implemented in 500 Yum Brands locations during the second half of this year, but so far the company has not specified which regions worldwide.

These popular fast-food chains have been trying to save labor costs for months through pilot tests using AI in order processing at their drive-thru locations; in the scheduling of supplies from their suppliers; and in how their employees are organized in their restaurants.
McDonald’s previously partnered with Google Cloud and IBM for voice ordering, but the collaboration with the latter ended abruptly.
Meanwhile, Wendy’s hamburger – with a significant presence, especially in North America -had previously partnered with Palantir to optimize data across its various locations through a shared cloud system.
