QCOSTARICA — The Cruz Roja Costarricense (Costa Rican Red Cross) reported that three people lost their lives in water accidents on Wednesday.
According to the information provided by the Red Cross, the first and second case occurred in Sarapiquí and Turrialba, where in each case a man was found lifeless in a river. The third fatal case also took place in Sarapiquí, specifically in the river of the same name, at 1:11 pm.
In addition to the deaths, the Red Cross carried out the rescue of four people in different situations, one of them a 4-year-old girl who was transferred in critical condition to nearest medical center.

The minor was found in cardiorespiratory arrest (CPA) in the pool of a hotel in Puerto Carrillo, Guanacaste.
“We are working hard right now so that this person can survive this emergency situation,” said the Red Cross National Operations Coordinator, Luis Rodríguez.
The other rescues took place in Cabo Velas de Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, where three people were swept away by the sea. They were stabilized and did not require transfer to a medical center.
