Walmart announces “Opportunity Tuesdays” to hire staff

QCOSTARICA — Walmart Costa Rica announced its new initiative “Opportunity Tuesdays”, facilitating a way to apply for positions in its plants and Distribution Centers (CEDIS) with in-person interviews.

This initiative stands out for eliminating traditional academic requirements, and prioritizing soft skills and schedule availability as criteria for recruitment.

Despite eliminating academic requirements, it is important to know how to read, and write, have basic knowledge of mathematics, and have a physical or digital resume. Those interested must appear at the business units on Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Job opportunities for people over 50 years old

“Talent with a track record” is a program aimed at people over 50 years of age who wish to join the Walmart workforce. With the aim of breaking down age barriers and demonstrating their experience is an invaluable asset in the work environment, as the program recognizes people’s experience and skills.

There are vacancies available in all its business units: plants, CEDIS, and stores, the units with the most vacancies, mainly in operational positions such as assistants.

Job fairs

Additionally, Walmart Costa Rica continues to expand its inclusion and diversity efforts with specialized job fairs, such as the one that will take place today, July 16, at Walmart Curridabat to recruit people with disabilities.

It can be applied for operational roles such as store assistants and cashiers, and also for administrative positions. This activity will be from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and will have a sign language interpreter for interviews with people with hearing disabilities.

Likewise, on July 23, from 9:00 am to noon, Walmart will have a female leadership event in Palí El Alto de Guadalupe, aimed at women with interest in management, assistant management, administration and coordination positions of stores of different formats. As a requirement, applicants must have as a minimum a high school diploma.

During the event there will be talks and activities designed to promote professional and personal growth. The maximum capacity is 100 people.
