QCOSTARICA — With a humorous message, the Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Transportes (MOPT), reminds drivers that the vehicular restrictions on San José will continue this week.
The restrictions will be lifted starting Monday, December 23, 2024, and resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.
On social media, the MOPT posted this message:

“Sorry for ‘art’, but the designer hit the Christmas lottery and resigned last night”.
The vehicle restriction of San José, Costa Rica, by license plate number is applied from Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 7 pm, in the area delimited by the Circunvalación route inclusive and from there to the center of the capital, as follows:
- Mondays: 1 & 2
- Tuesdays: 3 & 4
- Wednesdays: 5 & 6
- Thursdays: 7 & 8
- Fridays: 9 & 0
The vehicular restrictions do not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and mandatory holidays.
The fine for disregarding this measure is around ¢26,000.
