QCOSTARICA — The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) has announced that there will be no toll charges in effect during peak hours until Wednesday, December 18. Additionally, tolls will not be charged at all from Thursday, December 19 until Sunday, January 5, 2025.
These are tolls on the Ruta 1 in Rio Segundo (east of the San José airport on the San Jos!- Alajuela direction) and Naranjo; Route 2 (Tres Ríos); and Route 32 (San Isidro de Heredia)
According to the measure, the peak hours are established between 6:00 am and 9:00 am; and between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Initially, it was indicated that the no charge all day measure would be applied only on December 24 and 31.
The tolls on the Ruta 27, operated by GlobalVia, will continue to be charged normally, without any interruptions for peak periods or holidays.
Vehicular restrictions of San José
The vehicular restrictions of San Jose that apply weekly from Monday to Friday, depending on the last digit of the vehicle’s license plate, will not apply between December 23, 2024, and January 5, 2025.
The restrictions will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025, with plates ending in 1 and 2.
