Security is strengthened in Manuel Antonio beach and national park

QCOSTARICA — A new tourist police station was inaugurated by the Quepos Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, reinforcing the security of those who visit the beach and the Manuel Antonio park, one of the most emblematic destinations in Costa Rica.

“The new tourist police station will serve as a crucial resource to guarantee security on one of the most emblematic beaches in Costa Rica and for those who visit the Manuel Antonio National Park.

“This initiative will not only strengthen the protection of tourists who choose to enjoy our beaches, but will also contribute to the general security of the local community,” said Christian Fallas, president of the Quepos Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

The Minister of Security, Mario Zamora, was present at the inauguration and pointed out that “security is always related to the protection of rights and freedoms, but also to attracting investment and tourism.”

“Today we are inaugurating the most modern and best-conditioned police headquarters in the entire Costa Rican Pacific. I would like to congratulate the people of Quepos in particular, but I would like to recognize the efforts of its mayor and the Municipal Council that they have been making for years to gather the resources, permits, design, and construction, and that today, September 7, a police station with these first-world conditions is being handed over to the Ministry of Security and the Tourist Police,” he said.

The new Tourist Police facility, a 548 square meter facility that will be staffed by 16 officials and operate all year around, is located on Espadilla Beach, better known as Manuel Antonio Beach.

The Quepos Municipality donated the land for the facility and contributed towards the construction of the new police station.
