  • Northern Zone
  • Limón
  • Central Valley (San José, Alajuela, Heredia and Cartago)
  • Mountainous areas

Rain in these areas will occur mainly during the morning.

The Pacific coast (Guanacaste and Puntarenas) will have rain at the end of the afternoon and early hours of the night.

The official IMN weather forecast for today, Thursday, January 16, 2025:

High levels of atmospheric pressure over the Caribbean Basin are causing accelerated trade winds in our country, in addition to facilitating the entry of humidity from the Caribbean Sea into the national territory.

As a result, gusts of wind will be experienced occasionally in the Central Valley, the North Pacific and more evidently in the mountain ranges.

Likewise, the presence of cloudiness and rain is estimated in the province of Limón and the North Zone, the cloud layer may occasionally project to the Central Valley and the mountain ranges, causing light drizzle.
