QCOSTARICA — Thursday morning, one of the most wanted by the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) – Judicial Investigation Agency – was detained by officers of the Fuerza Publica (national police), when he tried to avoid a routine traffic block in the area of Cobano, Puntarenas.
Valverde Camacho, 33 years old, in 2020, was one of the most wanted for the crime of drug trafficking.

Officers who were carrying out a road control in Cóbano observed how the driver of a vehicle made a U-turn upon noticing the police presence.
Immediately, several officers, aboard a patrol car, followed him as he entered a kind of corral where he abandoned the vehicle to flee.
The police observed that a little girl was traveling inside the car, who, it is presumed, is the suspect’s daughter, as well they found a weapon and a package with apparent drugs.
While the minor was placed in the hands of the national children’s welfare agency, the PANI, the suspect was detained.
