Marchamo 2025: Have you paid yet?

QCOSTARICA — On Friday, November 1, the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS)  – State insurer – enabled the payment of the 2025 Marchamo, the annual vehicular circulation permit.

According to the INS data, more than two million vehicle owners have already consulted their amount to pay.

As of Sunday, according to the INS, a total of 11,017 people have made their payment, for an amount of ¢1,731,151,223 colones.

The deadline to make the payment for the 2024 Marchamo is December 31, after which late penalties and interest begin to accrue and drivers behind the wheel of a vehicle that does not have the Marchamo could receive a traffic ticket.

Payment can be made in person at any bank or receive their 2025 Marchamo sticker. Payment can also be made online and the sticker delivered to your home or place of work.

Making payment in person is easy, have your ID (cedula, residency card or passport) and the license plate number of the vehicle.

To obtain your 2025 Marchamo sticker, the vehicle has to have the vehicular inspection current. If it does not, payment can be made at any INS office, where a payment receipt is issued but no sticker will be issued until the vehicle inspection is done. This avoids incurring extra charges if paying after December 31.
