To get an idea of the amount of rain, for example, it was the amount that fell during the entire month of August in the Central Valley and in the month of April in the South Pacific.
There is also a 60% probability that an extreme event will occur.
“During the week of October 28 to November 4, there is a high probability of the development of tropical cyclones in the Caribbean Sea, north of Colombia,” said the IMN.
The cause?
According to Karina Hernández, from the IMN Climatology Unit, it is due to several factors, but mainly due to the passage of two tropical waves.
“We expect that by the weekend we will have the impact of tropical wave No. 42, which will increase the rains,” said Hernández.
“In addition, there is a tropical wave, No. 43, which has not yet entered the Caribbean Sea, but it seems that it is very well organized, that is, it can become a tropical storm or cyclone, causing some damage,” explained the specialist.

Also, there is a probability that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be activated near the Pacific, generating very rainy conditions throughout the Pacific and Central Valley.
Taking into account that there is a high saturation of soils, due to the rains of the last few weeks, the population that lives in areas prone to flooding and landslides is asked to be very attentive to changes in conditions.
