RICO’S Q — I typically report on traffic accidents, but it is worth mentioning the accident that occurred Friday night on the Circunvalación, resulting in the deaths of four, particularly due to the driving history of one of the drivers, who the Policia de Transito hypothesizes as being responsible for the accident.
This is a young woman with the last name Núñez Salazar, 24 years old, who would be the owner of a black Kia Sportage vehicle, according to the license plate of the vehicle, and one of the four people who died.
According to a report by the Diario Extra, Núñez had recently purchased the vehicle she was driving, a Kia Sportage, and had quite a driving record with her other vehicle.

According to official information from the Registro Nacional (National Registry), the woman had purchased the vehicle involved in the incident on November 28, 2024. The Registro information also indicates the now deceased also had a 2017 Hyundai in her name, which she would have acquired on September 27, 2021.
On the official website of the Road Safety Council (COSEVI), this vehicle was related to four prior traffic violations, one in 2023 and three in 2024, since Núñez bought it. The last of these sanctions, dated October 7, 2024, is associated with a pending judicial process in the Traffic Court of the Second Judicial Circuit of San José.
According to the Traffic Police, on Friday night, near La Paz Park, on the rotonda Y Griega, 150 meters towards Zapote, the Kia Sportage in which Núñez was driving struck a motorcycle and then crossed into the opposite lane and crashed into another vehicle carrying three people, including a 12-year-old, all of whom tragically lost their lives.
The only hypothesis that the authorities are working on is that Núñez was driving at a high rate of speed, according to Oswaldo Miranda, director of the Traffic Police.
