U.S. travelers have exciting news on the horizon: Delta Air Lines, in collaboration with Vinci Airports, has announced the launch of a new direct flight route from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in Massachusetts to Guanacaste Airport (LIR) in Costa Rica. This new service is set to commence on Saturday, January 11, 2025, and will continue through May 31, 2025.

According to the announced itinerary, the flight is scheduled to arrive in Guanacaste at 12:05 PM and will depart back to Boston at 1:35 PM. Delta will operate this route with the Airbus A321neo, which boasts a seating capacity of 194 passengers.

William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism, expressed his satisfaction with the new connection, noting its importance for tapping into the travel potential from Massachusetts and Boston.
“This direct connection has been a long-standing desire for us because Massachusetts, and Boston in particular, represent areas with significant potential for our country,” Rodríguez stated.

According to the latest data from ICT, 46% of U.S. tourists visiting Costa Rica are aged between 23 and 55. These travelers predominantly come from major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago, Orlando, Washington DC, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Boston. The new direct flight from Boston is expected to further boost tourist arrivals from this key demographic, enhancing Costa Rica’s appeal as a prime travel destination.
