QCOSTARICA – The rainy season is leaving its mark in its final days, affecting flight arrivals and departures at the Juan Santamaria International Airport (San Jose Airport – SJO) due to dense fog, that is also affecting several areas of the country.
This Tuesday morning, at least six flights were canceled, reported Aeris, the operator of Costa Rica’s main international airport.
The dense fog affected not only flights departing but also arrivals, where some flights were diverted to Panama and Nicaragua.

For this reason, travelers are asked to verify the status of their flight before leaving for the airport, as well as people going to pick up relatives, friends, or colleagues at the airport.
At this time, 7:05 am, in addition to the San Jose airport, fog banks are reported on the General Cañas highway, Carrillos, Altos de Poás, some areas of Heredia, Cartago and several points in the Central Valley.
Authorities are calling on drivers and pedestrians to drive with extreme caution and avoid accidents.
