Costa Rican Auditorium Theater Seeks Cast for Musical “The Little Prince” ⋆ The Costa Rica News

The National Auditorium Theater announces the search for talent for its next major production: a new musical version of the classic “The Little Prince,” which will premiere in February 2026.

This proposal, which comes from the famous Corrientes Street in Buenos Aires, the birthplace of Argentine musicals, “promises a contemporary, fresh, and captivating vision of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s work,” the statement says.

The call for auditions is open for singers, actors, and dancers who wish to be part of this production. The available roles are:

The Aviator

The Little Prince

The Rose

The King

The Fox

The Drinker

The Snake

The Businessman

The Vain Man

Dancer Ensemble

Requirements for applying to The Little Prince:

Interested applicants must submit their digital materials by the deadline of Tuesday, September 30th.

Audition Videos:

Singers and actors: Must submit a recording of no more than two minutes performing a pop-influenced musical theater piece that demonstrates their vocal range.

Dancers: In addition to the above, they must include a video of no more than two minutes demonstrating their ballet, jazz, or urban dance technique.

Videos must be recorded specifically for this audition, with no editing or studio production. Additionally, they must be uploaded to platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo with privacy settings set.

Additional Materials:

Two photographs: one headshot and one full-body.

A resume in PDF or JPG format.

Each file (videos, photos, and resume) must not exceed 10 MB.

All materials must be sent by September 30th to the email address: [email protected]

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the production team for an in-person audition, which will take place on Tuesday, October 7th.

A Top-Notch Creative Team

This project, produced by the National Auditorium Theater of the Costa Rican Center for Science and Culture, will feature a team of renowned professionals:

Director: Gerardo Cruz, who will collaborate with Eduardo Gondell, director of the original version of the musical and winner of prestigious awards such as the Goya, Estrella de Mar, Florencio Sánchez, and the Platino Award.

Choreography: Paula Alfaro.

Vocal preparation: Nebin Mata.

The original work is by Club Media, an Argentine entertainment company specializing in creating audiovisual content for young audiences. The project stands out for its costumes and makeup, which promise meticulous, high-quality work to reflect the project’s contemporary vision.
