Is the country prepared for the rise of electric vehicles?

The number of electric vehicles circulating in the country continues to increase steadily at an accelerated rate.

The country registered 10,513 more vehicles from 2023 to 2024, which represented an increase of 46.3%.

Despite this boom in electric mobility, the number of charging stations is not growing at the same rate.

On average, in Costa Rica, there are 378 electric cars for each fast-charging station, which reflects the high demand for chargers for vehicles of this type.
