Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, three US cities with direct connections to the country and with high interest in visiting Costa Rica, classified as priority by the Costa Rican Tourism Board, hosted a Costa Rican tourism promotion mission since August.
The itinerary of the mission, led by the tourism business organization Proimagen Costa Rica, included San Antonio, with the goal of opening new opportunities in the US market. Residents can fly to nearby cities such as Houston or Monterrey, thanks to a recently opened flight from this Mexican city.
Nature, sun, and beaches
“Residents of cities in Texas and California deeply value outdoor experiences, nature, sun, and beaches—all of which Costa Rica offers in abundance. In both regions, there is a great passion for activities such as hiking, visiting natural parks, and living a healthy lifestyle, which creates a strong connection with the eco-tourism and adventure tourism that characterizes our country,” said Christian Doñas, president of Proimagen Costa Rica.
