QCOSTARICA — A new violent incident in a known hotel in San José, on Cale 8 and Avenida 7, where the Fuerza Publica (national police) and the Municipal Police of San José, had to intervene Tuesday morning.
A security camera captured the moment when a gunfight between motorcyclists who shot at the hotel and a guest in the same room being targeted responded with gunfire.
Authorities assume the incident is related to drug activities.

“It is related to various violent crimes that have been presented in this same building, the same that police have been called on on several occasions, linked to the drug trafficking in this area”, said Deytel Beita, head of the San José Municipal Police.
Last December, a Costa Rican and a Colombian man were killed inside a room in this hotel that has previously been associated with drug trafficking activities in the area.
Last Sunday, around 5 pm, the Municipal Police of San José attended a similar event in the Líbano park, 100 meters from the hotel, where gunmen opened fire on people in the park, once again putting the lives of bystanders in jeopardy.
