Reversible lane to be implemented on Route 27 on Sunday, February 2

QCOSTARICA — The return of vacationers prompts the implementation of reversible lane on the Ruta 27 this Sunday, February 2.

The reversibility operation will start at 1:00  pm and end at 7:00 pm, that is the hours that access to the Ruta 27 westbound from the Cuidad Colon tolls to Pozon, west of Oritina, will be in effect; and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, all lanes on the same stretch of road will be towards San José.

The reason for having an hour at the beginning and another hour at the end of the closing and opening processes is to ensure that the operation is carried out in a safe manner.

The maximum speed allowed in during reversibility is 60 kilometers per hour. Signage will be temporarily modified and expect police speed control operations.

Traveling west to Puntarenas between the reversibility hours, drivers can use the Ruta 3,  Atenas – Aguacate – Orotina (also known as the old road to Jacó); the Ruta 1 via Cambronero, the road from the airport o San Ramon and Esparza; and, Ruta 239 via Ciudad Colón-Purisical-San Pablo-Turrubares to Orotina (a very scenic rout if you have the time).

Reversibility will be applied again on Sunday, February 9, according to the Ruta 27 concessionaire, Globalvia.
