“The country’s participation in Fruit Attraction is part of our strategy to diversify markets and support exporters in identifying new business opportunities. Europe, as the second largest partner in the Costa Rican agricultural sector, has recognized Costa Rica as a supplier of excellent goods. Our global leadership in the export of pineapple, banana and yuca reflects the commitment of our companies to competitiveness and the high quality standards that these markets demand,” said Laura López, General Manager of PROCOMER.
The main objective of this participation is to reinforce the image of Costa Rica as a reliable partner in the export of fresh products, highlighting the quality and sustainability of its offer. With more than 18 productive sectors represented at the fair, Costa Rican companies are expected to strengthen their position in the European market, where 37% of the country’s agricultural exports are destined for this continent.
In addition to identifying new businesses, Fruit Attraction 2024 is an opportunity for participating companies to update themselves on global market trends and analyze the behavior of the competition.
According to data from PROCOMER, at the end of August 2024, the agricultural sector showed a growth of 7% (+$165 million) compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching the figure of $2.42 billion. This sector is the second most important for the country’s exports of goods with a share of 19%.
