Monday morning, a human head was discovered inside a property in the Carmen Lyra sector, in Turrialba.
After the discovery, the authorities began to investigate to try to identify the victim, who hours later was confirmed as 38-year-old Pamela Alejandra Royo Solano, a mother of three children, all minors.
On Tuesday, the OIJ raided a home in Los Laureles, Turrialba, with the aid of a specialized dog from the Canine Unit but did not detect biological fluids. Randall Zúñiga, director of the OIJ, pointed out that, in addition to the use of trained dogs, luminol techniques were applied to find out if Pamela spent her last moments in the house inspected.
Pamela was last seen on Sunday, June 2. Her aunt, Guiss Royo, spoke about what happened in conversation with Crhoy.com: “It’s very hard. She didn’t deserve to die like that because even though she was a person of the street, she didn’t hurt anyone. Rather, she was a very well-known person here in Turrialba, very loved by many.”
She added: “It’s very hard. I sit and start thinking about what they did to her. I don’t know why they killed her and in such a macabre way.”
